After the 2011 Handball Canadian National Championships, I retired and dedicated my time to sharing my love for sports and physical literacy by coach for Sportball. I worked with families and children for over 10 years, developing and supporting activities for young learners. After a few years with Sportball, I stopped coaching to focus on my family, my career as an educator, and my role as a mentor for future educators. In 2016, I returned to Sportball, in a new role, working in the office. This position has allowed me to stay connected to families and children by supporting and building this amazing program from behind the scenes. I strongly believe in empowering children to become confident and caring individual and the Sportball methodology allows children to do this and express themselves through sport and movement in a fun, structured, non-competitive environment.
